Well, the surgery happened today, and it was a complete success.

There was a protein growth that the doc likened to an orange peel. He removed it, and he said "I got to watch the lung reinflate on its own". Looks like she'll be in hospital for another week.

Thanks to everyone who sent kind thoughts/words/expressions/etc. They were greatly appreciated.

Hooray! Hooray!! Hooray! I'm so glad it went well! Things are going to be fine. Granted, lung surgery is not a super-quick recovery (see: my dad last year), but there's no question that this is good news.

Congratulations on good results! It's nice to know that something so scary can lead to such a positive outcome :) Brings new meaning to the phrase sigh of relief!
