This was meant to be longer, but I'm unable to stay awake.

Aftermath continues. I discovered that yes, China has sent the standard expressions of condolence, I just hadn't seen it.

You'll have to forgive me, I'm a pint low. Blood donation was interesting. Apparently they got a call from New York asking that they not send any more blood, but rather schedule people for a couple of weeks from now when the supply has been depleted a bit. So, the option we were given when we walked in the door was "Wait two hours or wait two weeks". As I had two hours available, I chose that option.

Bad news, good news: I've been laid off. The project I've been working on, which involved calling people in New York State and asking them about their level of satisfaction with their state health insurance has been, rather unsurprisingly, indefinitely suspended. But, I've picked up some more work with the same company-we're doing an instant survey on the events of Tuesday. Starts tomorrow, ends (theoretically) Wednesday. That will keep me occupied (and rolling in dough).

Today's Link Of The Day is a debunking in nature. There is a "prophecy" by Nostradamus floating around that seems to predict the events of Tuesday. As I read this site, it seems that it's not an actual prediction, it's a fake one the author made up to show the general, open-ended nature of Nostradamus's writings. It seems to be a hoax, folks. Besides, as someone I can't remember put it: "Nostradamus was just the first guy to combine mushrooms and writing". http://www.ed.brocku.ca/~nmarshal/nostradamus.htm
