Ask any male over the age of 13 about his relationship with his father (which is, in and of itself, probably a mistake, as such conversations usually end up with one or both participants depressed), and the word you'll hear perhaps more than any other is "complicated". I am no different. I have spent each of the past two mornings running around doing things to save him from wrath maternal. And while I've received that standard compliments of thanks, I'm not entirely sure I'm being fully appreciated. But that's just a small part of it. I'm about the only friend he speaks to, but there are still times when he treats me like I'm 8. Like I said, it's complicated, and I think very nearly all of my male readers will agree when they consider their own lives.

I'm not even going to talk about work again until it shapes up some more.

Can't wait until Friday. Friday, which will be busybusy.

Today's Link Of The Day is Michael Chabon's website. Chabon is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier & Clay" (which, at 170 pages in, continues to be uniformly terrific with each word), as well as "Wonder Boys" and "Werewolves in Their Youth". Poke around his site, if for no other reason than to read his proposals on the X-Men movie. http://www.michaelchabon.com
