Not everyone is destined for greatness.

Really, why should we push our luck and try for happiness? Why not stop at "not in agony"?

I'm just getting out of a long conversation about this, actually. Someone trying to convince me (unsuccessfully, I'm afraid) that the quest for happiness is a worthwhile reason to live.

"What makes it so hard is not that you had it bad, but that you're that pissed that so many others had it good."-from "As Good As It Gets". And yeah, there's a lot of truth to that one.

This kind of runs contrary to what I was just writing, but I just saw "Gosford Park", directed by Robert Altman, and it turned me into Baz Luhrmann for whatever reason. I didn't so much walk out of the theatre as glide, and by the time I hit the parking lot, I was nearly dancing. For those who haven't heard, "Gosford Park" is a British drawing room whodunit with special emphasis placed on the relationships and contrasts between the upper class and their servants. It's a fabulously splendid film, with uniformly excellent performances, including the "I-usually-can't-much-stand-him" Ryan Phillipe. Manners, class, comedy, love, it's all here. It's definitely worth seeing.

Work today. Big deal.

Dammit, I'd hoped to get this done by 2:30. Oh, wellÂ…

Today's Link Of The Day is Industrious Clock. And industrious it is, with all the constant erasing. http://yugop.com/ver3/stuff/03/fla.html
