I had (and have) a good solid topic, but it's getting skipped right now on account of the hour.

I was supposed to go in for jury duty tomorrow. Sadly, that's not going to happen-they needed numbers 1 through 190 and I was # 273. Boo hoo. I would have really liked to have done it, too. Now I just have to wait until next time.

If someone has an Amazon.com Wish List, and doesn't tell anyone about it, does it make a sound?

I bought the "I Am Sam" soundtrack and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs [sic]" on DVD today. I needed to get "Snow White" before Thursday, when it gets pulled from the shelves and put back into the vault for 10 years. And "I Am Sam" was worth my money if only because it's got Nick Cave doing "Let It Be". All else is superfluous.

I wonder if anyone's ever seriously considered the idea of rock star children of rock star parents. Why is it they're almost always less interesting than their parents? The "I Am Sam" soundtrack has two examples, one right after the other: The Wallflowers (Jakob Dylan) and Rufus Wainwright (I can hear you howling, but I prefer Loudon III-something about Rufus's delivery just doesn't work for me).

Today's Link Of The Day is Rhymes With Orange. Chicago-area readers may remember RWO from its time on the Tribune comics page (it has since been replaced by the not-as-funny "Get Fuzzy"). Hilary Price's strip is very, very good-I like the twist of her worldview. http://www.rhymeswithorange.com
