I'd just like to point out, on the 34th anniversary of his assassination, that Martin Luther King Jr. is dead, but Lester Maddox lives.

This is because, ultimately, the Universe hates us all.

Worked today. Got paid.

Not that it's meaningful to anyone but me, but within the past week, I passed 300 consecutive days of these scribblings.

A round of applause to Chuck Finley for doing the right thing.

Saw "Kissing Jessica Stein", directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld. It's very funny and well-made, and I think the most interesting thing about it is that it ends 15 minutes after what would have been the safe Hollywood ending, and the film is better for it. It took me a while to get to that conclusion, though-I'd originally thought it was just ending in the way it did to be snooty, "We're not going to end the way you want just because we want to arbitrarily mess with your expectations"; it wasn't until some rumination that I decided it was simply more realistic this way. I recommend it to anyone who's not a love-starved depressive.

Oh, wait.

Today's Link Of The Day is, speaking of love-starved, the long-in-the-works formerly anonymous writing project I've been choking out for several weeks now. I am reasonably proud of it. If your office's firewall won't let you get to it, drop me an e-mail and I'll send you a copy. To get to the column, just click on my stylized face. http://www.itsaboutsex.net
