Dullish day.
Chauffeured Dad to yet another doctor's appointment. I have a feeling the docs are secretly quite relieved when they find out I brought him and not my mom. I just listen and don't ask questions, just trying to make sure to stay out of the way.
Continued on my Herculean task today was better than most.
I may have hit upon a way to gain some badly-needed capital.
OK, here's something: my dad is receiving dressing changes on the wounds on his feet. A visiting nurse comes to the house twice a day to do it. Depending on who gets their way, those visits may be cut back or eliminated. They want me to learn how to do the changes. I am hesitant. I don't think it's squeamishness, necessarily, though it is a bit gross. No, more of it is the fact that I'm not a healthcare provider. I don't want to be a health care provider. I am currently without health insurance myself. I am genuinely frightened by the risks of my picking up an infection. I'm worried about liability issues, and who gets in trouble if something goes wrong. Basically, I both don't want to screw up, and I don't want to screw up myself. Is that so bad?
Received another entry for the pool today. Guess the number of movies I see in 2001, win a prize to be determined. Send 'em to johnsmoviepool@aol.com.
