Disappointed and a little melancholy tonight, so I won't be doing the discussion I mentioned yesterday.
"Sexy Beast", directed by Jonathan Glazer is what has me disappointed. It has been receiving billing as a hard British crime drama with a searing, galvanizing performance by Ben Kingsley. I, however, found myself bored with most of it. Kingsley is good, sure, but nothing too memorable. There's some somewhat interesting camera work, but overall nothing really impressive. It's also one of those English films (like, for example, "The Full Monty") where the characters use such thick accents that you almost want subtitles.
