I helped to move a couch today, in addition to some game-playing and food-eating. Oh, and this was fun: at midnight, our next-door neighbors threw in a "Sex and the City" DVD and started watching. What they didn't know is that the sound was being fed to their outdoor speaker and it was being broadcast to the whole neighborhood. After identifying it and realizing they probably wouldn't want it playing like that, I threw on my shoes and, with some trepidation, rang their doorbell and explained their problem. They were duly sheepish. With any luck, this will cut through some of the frostiness.
And I said I would have an announcement. Well, here goes: I'm starting something that I think will be interesting. It's called "five lines two rhymes". Here's how it works: every Sunday night/Monday morning, I will post two words. The general readership, then, will have a week to use those two words to create an original limerick and post it to the site. The best one (funniest, weirdest, whatever), as judged by me, wins a real live prize-a $25 gift certificate from Amazon.com. The first pair of words is up now. Go, try it out, and for the love of heaven, tell your friends-the more people who enter, the more that there is to be had!
