Perhaps you don't remember then. Either your subconscious is supressing them or your subconscious doesn't consider anything frightening enough to obsess about while you sleep.

...that perhaps you've long been having what many would consider nightmares, but you don't consider them as such. Is it possible to fully desensitize your subconscious?

I would imagine it is possible...if the mind is able to fracture to protect itself (multiple personality disorder), just consider the possibilities that aren't as well known...
