Mentioning this in a comment in bdar's LJ made me want to post it here, for more general viewing.

Esquire magazine published this outstanding Jesus FAQ in their May issue. I recommend it to everyone, because it points out that whatever you think about Jesus, you're wrong¹.

Go on, now. Read up.

I gotta say, that's the most accurate, in-depth picture of Jesus I've ever seen. It doesn't take the one-sided view of most Christian bookwriters, and it doesn't take the one-sided view of most non-Christian bookwriters.

That's a brilliant piece.

And nothing there surprised me, except that a pastor I've met counseled Bill Clinton.
