If anyone out there has good reasons for me not to pack it in and become a hermit, I'd really appreciate them right about now.

Because I'd miss you, you great schlub.

And Amazon doesn't deliver to caves.

Sunshine. (it's my way-girlie answer).

I have a new theory about life, ready? okay. Life sucks. It maintains a steady stream of 'strike you down when you're up' and makes you as miserable as you let it. And that's the trick: you let it get to you. There are people out there who have such horrible horrible things happen to them, but they don't let it get to them. Sure it's bad, or it's dysfiguring or destructive, but it doesn't matter. You don't matter, what happens to you doesn't matter. Like the water that flows to the ocean you carry on... okay that went too far. But my main point: you create a resistance to all the 'strike you down' crap.

So life will still suck when you retreat to your cave. ugh. geez dane, help much? I'm such a shit.

Okay, so you know those creatures that exist only in caves, like mole mice, which have translucent skin and are blind and really scary? You don't want to be that. In fact, you can't be that, you have what one might say is a "deplorable excess of personality" [1], you couldn't possibly become a thing that lives in a cave, you've got too much color.

[1]--I assume you know where I stole that from. And it's not deplorable with you, I just wanted to use that line.

Come to think of it, John'd be a good chaos mathematician.

That's what I was thinking. Also that you're a big fan of chaos anyway, so might as well make it a calling.

For in that hermit's cave what bugs may come"

Sit. Stay.

I second that, because I have nothing pithy to say.
