I didn't get the job.

This is the reason Hope was in that fucking box: because when you're at the end of your rope, and there doesn't seem to be anything that can improve an aspect of your life, a litle bit of hope will penetrate and make you think that things CAN get better, so you hope, and you believe, and then it all comes collapsing down leaving you even lower than you thought you could have been before hope happened. That is the power of hope.

Details upon request.

WHAT?

I mean.

WHAT?

That doesn't make any sense.

Why does the universe suck so much?

Is there anybody we can rough up for you?

Pretend I'm saying something that helps, because I'd really like to say something that helps. Maybe whoever got the job will royally suck in the first few weeks. Happens at my work all the time. You can always call back later and make sure things are working out.

Idiots.

Now that you've told me what the job was, those people are idiots.

Piss. Sorry to hear that.

Any chance of you coming downtown this weekend for some good old-fashioned soul-cleansing digital stupidity? Blasting collections of polygons into itty-bitty pieces could be very cathartic.

I love that comment, and have botched it several times.

The times being what they are, I'm afraid overruns and sloth have driven the cost to $75 a copy, published weekly. But I, myself, feel it would be worth it at twice the price.

Though I didn't know what the job is (and would like to, if you're willing to share), it seems as though it was perfect for you so I have my hunches. In any case, what makes you sad, makes me sad.

But if what makes me happy also makes you happy, we might just have something here. I could give my dog a jar of peanut butter, that always makes me laugh. Just let me know.
