Just received word that my insurance company has decided to total my car, which means a larger settlement check with which to have to find a new car.

Date: 2004-07-09 07:04 am (UTC)When my car got hit and damaged in nearly the same spot, the first three places I took it to said it was a total. But they were full of shit, as I took it to a fourth place, who told me "no problem." And it wasn't. They fixed it up right nice.
I think the problem here is that they think the book value of your car is less than what it would cost to repair. Try telling them to fix it. See how they justify the decision not to.
