This is something Congress should be dealing with:

Why? Well, for one thing, it's a matter of interstate commerce, something which is explicitly ceded to Congress's control by...what was it? Oh, yeah, the Constitution.

This is something Congress has no business dealing with:

Why? Because it's little more than a cynical, transparent attempt to pander to the Religious Right back at home in the sticks--and what's terrible is that it's likely to work (though polling indicates I might be wrong on that).

I am just amused that (correct me if i'm wrong on this) congress just allowed the family's case to be heard in a federal court, but the federal court knows it's not their business and they have nothing to say about it. Could this have been the ultimate plan? Religious right loves congress because of this move, and then hates the judicial branch? Shivo ends up a martyr? What's the real goal here....?

Not all with faith want this woman to be used as a political pawn. Personally I am appalled at what is happening. What is it her family is hoping to achieve? Someone please enlighten me, because I just cannot see anything good or intelligent with what they are doing. Death is a natural part of life, it may not always be pretty, or in a "natural" way, but what she is suffering now is nothing more than the God complex of too many egos.
