OK, remember a couple of days ago, when I was talking about the limited number of offdays I was looking at for the rest of the month of June? I got to the store yesterday and found a note from my Saturday guy...

...asking to take off this Saturday, the 18th.

Part of me wants to turn him down cold just for the sake of my own sanity and self-preservation.

Another part of me, though, wants to do it, just for the endurance test and BECAUSE it would drive me crazy.

Thoughts?

The obvious reaction is "You're something of a masochist, aren't you?"

Endurance test is always interesting.
Then again, so is the occasional moment of relaxation.

I'm against working too much.

Can you ask your saturday guy to work on sunday instead? Are there employees at the other store who are looking for extra hours?

No (he's got another job which pays him more than twice as much when he works there Sunday) and...I'm trying. Reply hazy, ask again later.

Maybe you should grant him his request, and then dress up the comic book shop to look like a Mansonian abattoir. Take photos, and then leave them for him, so that he knows why you shouldn't ask such requests when JHR is already going to be pushed to the limits.

Hell, you should do that anyway.
