Do you want us to start calling you "JH" now?

Because I will. Seriously. I like it. As initials go, they work.

I r-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ally do NOT. I am "JH" because, in one of those "so weird, it's gotta be true" things, my boss (to whom I am not related) has the same first AND LAST name as I do, and a way to tell us apart was needed. The other nickname I use is "Snake", for reasons you'll have to discover for yourself.

I'm amused by the varied vitriol spewed at GCC by some of the posters in the first link. Are you guys the totalitarian Microsoft of the Chicagoland comic retailer market?

Well, we have 8 locations, which is a lot in an industry that's usually single-stores, owned and operated by one guy. Additionally, the Newsarama boards are among the most vicious on the Web--a lot of vitriol for vitriol's sake. I could post "I like waffles" and within an hour there would be a half-dozen responses impugning my intelligence, taste, and masculinity (and finding a way to blame Marvel Comics for it). I'm not responding to what they're saying because the preponderance of it is stuff I don't deal with and I don't want to wrestle the pig.
