I just found out my dad apparently had a "small" stroke today.

Resting in the hospital.

It seems to be primarily affecting his speech centers.

11 days shy of 60.

I know we already "spoke," but again, hope he comes out okay. My grandfather (I know, but still) had a "small stroke" a few years ago and is just as healthy as he was before. Can't play golf anymore, is all (and since I played with him more than once, I can say that that's not a real tragedy - wasn't all that hot to begin with). Best wishes.

You're in my thoughts. It seems inadequate and trite to say "good luck", "be well" and shit like that. What can that do to make things better, to make it come out ok in the end?

Happened to my dad a few years ago. I know it's still stressful to go through this, but now that they know it's something to be concerned about they can work to prevent any sort of larger stroke. We're thinking of you.
