Well, Dad's in the hospital. Depending on who you talk to, he'll be out either Friday (his estimate) or Sunday (the nurse's estimate). Mom leaves tomorrow.
Found out a depressing bit: Renee, the daughter of my mom's late best friend, has announced her engagement and impending nuptials (in June 2002). This depresses me for a very specific reason: Renee is exactly four days older than I (she's 12/15/77, I'm 12/19/77). I am as far as I've ever been from getting married (e.g., I have yet to meet a prospective candidate). As such, I'm a little depressed.
Will someone please make the heat go away?
I just sent a resume to askdrtech.comÂ…we'll see if that pans out. I don't hold out great hope.
The American Film Institute released its list of the "100 most Heart-Pounding Movies of All Time". "Psycho", "Jaws", and "The Exorcist" were 1-2-3, which already makes this list better than last year's comedy list. Going down the rest of it, the only thing I think is really missing (and it was on the nominations list) was David Fincher's "Se7en". All in all, it's fairly well-balanced (if the category was a bit ill-defined), and you can find the entire list at http://www.afionline.org/100thrills/100films.asp
I had more to say, but I'm running out of gas. Today's link of the day is the MemePool-people who read the web so you don't have to. Find it at http://www.memepool.com

Hey there Kemosabe
Date: 2001-06-13 03:10 pm (UTC)So, I've realized that this is a much better way of keeping in contact with you than playing the personal email tennis match. (And I created my own account, just in case one day I decide to vent into this forum instead of the message board I frequent.)
Unfortunately, my confirmation has not yet gone through, so for now I'm the author of Primary Colors.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's friend and your dad's feet.
Considering your recent journal entry, I'm a little wary of telling you this, but you nonetheless should know that Jen and Hobie announced their engagement on Saturday.
Have not seen Moulin Rouge, hoping to do so this coming Sunday.
Hope you're doing a little better than your journal suggests.
