I was planning on starting this entry with "There is very little in the world better than being a smug New York Yankees fan." But, for obvious reasons, I can't tonight. So I offer my congratulations to the Arizona Diamondbacks, manager Bob Brenly, owner Jerry Colangelo, and the entire organization. Cheers.

I'll get into the Emmys tomorrow. I didn't see the show, and I have yet to see complete results.

The Bears are beginning to develop Stink of Destiny.

I've listened to 30 seconds of the first song on "Tigermilk" (as well as all of "Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant"), and let me just say this-anyone who's scrambling for birthday gift ideas for me: Belle and Sebastian, Belle and Sebastian, Belle and Sebastian.

There was something else I wanted to say, but I can't remember it now.

I didn't see the Emmys either, but frankly, I don't think the rest of the world cared as much as Hollywood likes to think they do.
